Oh look I’m actually following through on something I said I’d do for once. As you might know there are two figma PLUS sets. Last time we had a look at the classroom set, now here’s the school route set.
In reality there’s nothing specifically school route-y about it; it’s basically just a road. It’s actually a nice setting to have, because what can’t you stage on a road? Nothing!
Karen Araragi’s embarrassing poses? Perfect!
This borderline yuri Araragi sisters pose? No problem!
Even this overtly yuri Araragi sisters pose works! Well maybe a more private setting is better for these last two…
(Can you tell I’m on a figma unboxing spree?)
Damn it Araragi, your general obliviousness has hurt Nadeko’s feelings. I feel like this is what 90% of the Monogatari series would be like in real life: just girls yelling at Araragi. It’s cool though, Hanekawa has Nadeko’s back!
Of course I had to get my tiny Shinobu!! No need to be afraid of hobobot Canti.
The figFIX Shinobu is one of my favorite things. I still don’t know how I feel about the whole figFIX concept… but I do love having a tiny Shinobu.
Look, a battle broke out! So Shimakaze and Rensouhou-chan can fight on land too. Are they any match for Aigis?
The school route set comes with two barricade pieces, some signposts, and a bunch of various roadside accessories. Unlike the classroom set these look a bit unfinished, so if you’re ok with painting I’d recommend it. Also unlike the classroom set, this backdrop doesn’t lend itself to multiples, so you’d have to print out your own if you got more than one.
I’m hoping to see more figma PLUS sets because they can save a lot of time for those of us who aren’t DIY-inclined. The bases provide some flexibility to use with figma stands, and you can always add your own DIY props onto them. Good Smile’s Nendoroid More accessories are worth checking out too. Whether you make your own accessories or buy them, just have fun and take pictures!
