Hey, I’m back! If you’re wondering where I’ve been (besides Comic Con), let’s just say moving in the same week as SDCC means that certain utilities don’t get installed for a while. But now that my internet is ready to go, it’s time to marvel at the sights of SDCC 2014.
What does one do at SDCC? Well the obvious thing is lots and lots of shopping. But I was also able to meet some celebrities, such as Battlestar Galactica‘s Jamie Bamber:
Why am I wearing a Tachikoma? Because he’s my travel buddy, of course. Pedro tried to eat/fight him:
Although I saw some great cosplay this year, I felt that the variety was lacking. There were a LOT of Harley Quinns, Deadpools, and various Avengers members. Pretty much every other cosplay fit one of those three categories, so I didn’t get as many cosplay shots as I was hoping to. Also it was a lot of work getting show floor coverage for Tomopop, so I was a bit burned out on photography. SDCC is a loooong event and you can only wander the convention center so many times before you just say “screw it.”
Daft Punk Stormtrooper went criminally under-recognized. He was even blasting Daft Punk music!
I was getting sick of all the Avengers cosplay, but this Loki and Thor duo pulled it off really well.
There seems to be exactly one Stig at every convention.
One of the cooler things I saw: the 60’s Batman cast!
Kill la Kill‘s Tsumugu, Sub Zero, and an appropriately in-character Johnny Cage. No female Nudist Beach outfits, unfortunately.
I guess Bane wasn’t in vogue this year, but this guy had the look down.
It’s mildly interesting to me that someone was selling Battle Angel cels. Isn’t that mildly interesting??
Congratulations, Chappelle’s Show Prince impersonator, you win all of the cosplays.
